Medical Records Unit Supervisor

1.1. Acts as liaison between the Medical Record Department and other Departments.
1.2. Coordinates with the Department Head for any problems in which the Medical Record Department is involve.
1.3. Coordinates with the Health Support Services Coordinator if there are problems with regards to patient files and patient cards.
1.4. Responsible in giving evaluation to all Medical Record Staff and submitting it to the Head of Medical Record.
1.5. Supervise department on daily basis and distribute work to ensure smooth functioning of the department.
1.6. Monitor Inpatient file Completion and Communicates with Admitting Physicians for same.
1.7. Liaises with Nurses, Health Support Services Coordinator and Business Office in identifying and solving problems.
1.8. Responsible in preparing the daily and monthly statistics reports.
1.9. Assumes responsibility in attending departmental meetings and strictly follows instruction from the Head of the Department.
1.10. Assumes responsibility in practicing confidentiality in patient files.
1.11. Assist in maintaining organized medical record filing system for old Files.
1.12. Responsible in following assignments to the staff and coordinate with the scheduling of the Medical Records staff.
1.13. Liaise with ITG for system optimization on regular basis, resulting in simplified working routines and overall increased output of the department.
1.14. Complies with the standards laid down by the joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA)/ Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI).
1.15. Reports to Head of Department for any violation of Medical Record documentation (MRD) and Policies and Procedures (P&P).
1.16. Monitor and review employee productivity and performance, staff development, and program implementation for patient satisfaction, efficiency, effectiveness, work priorities, and compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and standards.
1.17. Participate in, and lead person-centered care initiatives undertaken by the Institution
1.18. Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
1.19. Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realms of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Technology or related area.
- Master’s Degree is a plus
- At least 3 years in the same field
- At least 2 years Supervisory position
- With valid Saudi Commission For Health Specialties License
